After spending the night at the secure visitor moorings opposite the Cadbury Chocolate Factory at Bournville we commenced the relatively short journey into Birmingham City Centre. We couldn’t believe how beautiful and peaceful this entry into a Birmingham was. The Birmingham and Worcester Canal forms a natural green corridor through the leafy suburbs of Edgbaston and the grounds of the University of Birmingham and almost immediately you appear in Gas Street Basin. Adjacent to the ICC and Birmingham Arena. We moored there for a while and then decided to moor further up directly outside the Sea Life Centre at Brindley Place. To find such good moorings in the very heart of the city is still hard to believe and we stayed 4 days.
A very exciting and lovely part of our summer cruise.
