Well, we have been in Benidorm for nearly two weeks, another three to go. This resort is the 'lively' part of our adventure. It is a place of contrasts and something for everybody from a beautiful old town to the 'madness' of the strip behind the seafront of the magnificent Levante beach. The Poniente beach … Continue reading Benidorm !!

Camping Almayate Costa
We visited this Camping Almayate Costa last year just one day after it had re-opened following a Winter closure. Last year we thought it was rather bleak and a bit austere. We were one of only three vans there and the site was just starting to function again. This year it was totally different as … Continue reading Camping Almayate Costa
Medina Sidonia
This town is beautiful and it doesn't appear on any of the standard tourist information in the area. It is perched 300m above vast valleys with stunning views from every way you look. The main square equals Marbellas orange square in character and has several well appointed restaurants and bars. We had a lunch at … Continue reading Medina Sidonia
Salamanca and Restaurant Delicatessen
Finally arrived in Salamanca which is the first stop on our Winter Adventure 2018/19 after a long but uneventful journey from Bilbao International port. The ferry crossing was classified as very rough in the Bay of Biscay but we found it reasonably comfortable and the rocking of the boat sent us to sleep. We must … Continue reading Salamanca and Restaurant Delicatessen
Felice Bar/Restaurant, Barcelona
We were advised that there were a number of really good restaurants in the Gracia area of Barcelona so we decided to explore for our evening meal. We found the Felice on Calle Francisco Giner and we had a lovely meal. We were drawn to the restaurant because at the end of a street we … Continue reading Felice Bar/Restaurant, Barcelona
L'Angles de Adriana Restaurant, Sitges
L' Angles de Adriana is a French restaurant in the middle of the Sitges tourist area. We both had an excellent french soup and then John had an entrecôte (rib-eye)steak and I had beef burger Rossini. The food was very good both served with sauté potatoes and a few fresh vegetables. John finished with chocolate … Continue reading L'Angles de Adriana Restaurant, Sitges
Brasserie Miramar – Albir
We stopped off at this road side restaurant/café after a cycle ride along the Albir and Altea seafront. It was a good choice. The menu was good Scandinavian food and reasonably inexpensive. We both chose the vegetable soup with sausage. Wow, great. We returned a few days later and had it again.
Blanco Verde – Conil de la Frontera
This restaurant is part of a hotel but totally separate in all senses. We booked for Christmas day on the recommendation of Esta, the receptionist at La Rosaleda camp site. The staff were very friendly but did not speak good English. That aside we had a wonderful meal. The starters - garlic prawns, delicious. Ham … Continue reading Blanco Verde – Conil de la Frontera
Retirement – really?
I always thought...... my retirement would be so different. The last 4 weeks have changed everything. One week on the Leeds Liverpool canal hiring a boat from Silsdon boats. Getting back on the 18/9/17, then ringing James at Rugby boats on 19/9/17, "let me know if you get a boat of quality in" I say. … Continue reading Retirement – really?
